Dawn Booth

Dawn Booth is an award-winning poet and writer. Residing in Fort McMurray since 2007, she spent the majority of her professional career as an editor in newspaper and magazine publishing.

 

As an ambassador for literary arts, she volunteers on several community initiatives as the President of the Northern Canada Collective Society of Writers (a non-profit organization responsible for the production of NorthWord Magazine), as well as a recurring judge for the Wood Buffalo Regional Library’s Words in Motion program.

 

Her most recent career accomplishment has been the curation of a new program, launched in September 2023, called the YMM Digital Art Exhibit at the Fort McMurray International Airport.

 

Dawn was also the recipient of the 2018 Wood Buffalo Excellence in Art Awards for Literary Arts, YMM Magazine’s inaugural Top 50 Under 50 (2016), Poem Laureate for the Mayor’s Poetry City Challenge (2016) and Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta Woman of Inspiration 2014-2015 Series.
