Event Information

The Fort McMurray Urban Market started in 2013 as a pilot market. It quickly became a highlight of the summer season for the community and evolved into a full season of nine markets in 2014. Building upon this success, 2015 will also see two Saturday markets appear in Fort McMurray. This year the Urban Market will be centered in Jubilee Plaza, utilizing this recently developed community space.

Arts Council Wood Buffalo (ACWB) is proud to partner with the Fort McMurray Urban Market to present an art-themed market on Saturday July 11, 2015 from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. This Urban Market will emphasize the variety of art and artists within our community. Artists of all disciplines are invited to host or co-host a Vendor Tent showcasing their art through displays, demonstrations, and of course sales of their work.

In order to make the market accessible to a variety of artists, Arts Council Wood Buffalo will be covering the required tent rental fees for all participating ACWB Members (a savings of more than $50). ACWB will also be providing a pre-market workshop with tips on the best strategies for selling art in a market setting.

Vendors

Who is eligible?

ACWB is looking for artists of all disciplines; Visual, Literary, Music, Dance, Theatre, Photography, First Nations, Métis, fine craft, or any other form which showcases the eclectic and diverse artistry within our community.

The Fort McMurray Urban Market is an Approved Alberta Farmers’ Market and, as such, all artists must create their work within the province of Alberta.

To be eligible to have your tent fee waived, you must be a current member with Arts Council Wood Buffalo.

What products/vendor are not eligible?

  • Used or flea market product
  • Chain establishments
  • Networking marketing companies/catalogue sales

Artist Investment

  1. Each tent comes with one 6 foot folding table (Any additional tables required must be provided by the individual Artists)
  2. Chair(s)
  3. Signage with business name
  4. $35.00 + GST Stall Fee
  5. Commercial General Liability Insurance (ACWB will be assist its members obtain insurance)

Interested?

To be eligible for the benefits of partnership with ACWB, please provide a description of your proposed activities for the art-themed Urban Market including: the type of art you will be showcasing at your booth, the number of people involved, whether you will be displaying, selling, or demonstrating your art form.
