Redpoll Centre Public Art Commission
The Redpoll Centre Public Art Commission project will create an original piece of public art exhibited within the Redpoll Centre at Shell Place in Fort McMurray, AB. Alberta visual artists or artist collectives working in 2D or 3D, photography, or fine craft were invited to respond to an Request for Expression Of Interest due October 3, 2016. Through a two-round selection process open to artists locally and across Alberta, an artist was chosen and the artwork will be unveiled in September 2017.

Wood Buffalo Timeraiser
This event has passed. Please check back in the spring for updates on the 2018 Wood Bufalo Timeraiser!
Arts Council Wood Buffalo was pleased to partner with FuseSocial in making this event meaningful for visual artists, to ensure the arts are fairly represented, and that best practices are followed. ACWB staff worked closely with FuseSocial to create the artist calls, collect and organize the submissions, and assist with the selection process. ACWB was excited to once again be part of an event that recognizes the value of art and pays artists for their work.
Timeraiser is a party for social good! It is a night of contemporary art, great music, connecting with amazing social profit organizations, and coming together as a community. The evening consists of showcasing stand-out social profit organizations who are there to engage with volunteers looking for meaningful opportunities. It’s also an art auction where community members bid on art by established and up-and-coming local artists in exchange for volunteer time instead of money!
Thursday April 27, 2017. 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm. MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery.
